SUMMARY
The path of sperm through the male and female reproductive systems is internal. The sperm travel inside the male body through a series of tubes, exiting through the penis, directly into the female body, fertilizing the egg internally (internal fertilization). Internal fertilization is an adaptation found in many terrestrial organisms.
