  Part 7 | Chapter 37 Tutorial Home
What are your body's organ systems and how do they perform specialized functions?
Screen 12 of 12

SUMMARY
It is interesting to note that almost every one of the body systems is integral to maintaining homeostasis. Only the reproductive system bypasses this function, as its purpose is primarily concerned with perpetuating the human species.

Emerging scientific discoveries and points of view continue to provide us with new information on how to best care for each of the body systems. Advances in heart surgery, for example, save and prolong lives that would have been unsalvageable even ten or 15 years ago. Equally significant has been our recent ability to increasingly prevent, treat, and cure certain cancers found in the circulatory and urinary body systems.
